The Compaq Netelligent 16/4 TR ISA IBM UTP/STP controller is a feature rich, easy to use, high performance controller that is compatible with IBM product environments. Dedicated Token Ring (DTR) delivers higher performance for Token Ring controllers. DTR provides full duplex functionality to Token Ring for speeds up to 32/8Mb/s aggregate bandwidth when connected to a full duplex switch. Installing the controller is easy with zero-conflict auto configuration. Plug the controller into an ISA slot and it automatically configures memory and interrupt settings. You have the choice of Plug and Play automated configuration or software configuration using LANAID, an easy-to-use utility featuring a graphical user interface or a command line interface for the experienced network supervisor. SmartStart support provides easy installation on Compaq servers. The Netelligent 16/4 TR ISA IBM UTP/STP controller provides a DB9 connector for STP and an RJ-45 connector for UTP media. The controller also has automatic media detection for UTP or STP. The 16/4 TR ISA IBM UTP/STP controller supports the Desktop Management Interface (DMI) for managing information. Remote Program Load (RPL) enables the Netelligent 16/4 TR ISA IBM Controller to boot a computer using files the computer receives from the server. The Netelligent 16/4 TR ISA IBM UTP/STP controller has LEDs that provide information useful for monitoring the status of the controller and problem solving without disrupting the operation of the network.
